Swiftcurrent Creek

The short, 6-week long first season removed the 75-foot long, five span concrete deck bridge built in the 1930’s, and replaced it with a single span precast hollow core slab design. The new bridge is supported by 5 each, 12-inch diameter concrete filled steel pipe pile with a precast concrete cap. The 150,000 pound girders required the use of a girder trolley system and 275-ton hydraulic crane to complete the bridge. Other work completed during this two season project included the concrete topping slab, concrete curb, steel bridge rail, utilities, paving and rock retaining walls.
