Columbia River Intake Screen Upgrade

This project occurred during the 2020-2021 Columbia River in-water work window. Work consisted of the construction of four new 60-inch diameter stainless steel barrel screens with steel bulkheads and appurtenant improvements to the existing facility. During construction, the intake structure was continually operated without any interruption to service. Utilizing Northbank’s crane barge and material barge, all permanent materials were loaded offsite and delivered for installation. Upon completion of the main scope of work, the City of Richland contracted with Northbank to remove and replace 2 of their vertical turbine intake pumps.
