Hood Canal Bridge Rehab

Hood Canal connects the Olympic and Kitsap Peninsulas. At 7,869 feet (2,398.5 m) long, (floating portion 6,521 feet (1,987.6 m)) it is the longest floating bridge in the world located in a saltwater tidal basin, and the third longest floating bridge overall.

Northbank performed structural, mechanical and hydraulic rehabilitation of the two 300 foot draw span pontoons. Northbank adjusted and shimed 25 pontoon guide rollers, removed 16 gear boxes (rebuild 8 gear boxes and 8 new gear boxes were built) and reinstalled and aligned. Other scope included new hydraulic cylinder lines with a complete oil flush of the system which included 3 each, 1000 gallon reservoir tanks.

On project was completed in September of 2018.
