Cle Elum Dam, located 10 miles northwest of Cle Elum, Washington was completed in the 1930s without fish passage facilities. The finished Cle Elum Dam Fish Passage Facility will promote ecological connectivity, biodiversity and natural production of salmonids in the Cle Elum Reservoir.
The Cle Elum Lake Fish Passage Juvenile Facility Tunnel is a $15.2 million project. Northbank is responsible installing a 10’ diameter fish passage tunnel over 1200 feet long through glacial outwash from the outlet portal below the lake to the secant pile shaft upstream of the dam as well as completing the helix chamber foundation system. Work includes mass excavation, shoring, tunnel excavation and lining, shaft excavation and concrete. The helix chamber foundation includes a drainage system, secant pile concrete overlay walls and mass concrete. Site work will begin April of 2018 and be complete by August of 2020.
