The Mabton trestle is 516 feet in length with a 60-inch diameter pipeline that conveys irrigation water across the Yakima River. The pipeline is supported by 14 piers, each constructed of eight wooden piles with an attached exterior wood timber rock filled crib. The project required the mobilization of work barges and equipment to the Yakima River. The exterior timbers and rock were removed, the wooden piles wrapped with a protective sealant cloth, epoxy injection of damaged piles, and exterior timbers and rock replaced. In addition to the pile wrapping, the existing pipeline was hydraulically jacked and support members replaced.
