Cougar Powerhouse is located in the Willamette Valley, near Blue River, Oregon. The project includes modifications to existing powerhouse and intake tower systems to mitigate oil spills from oil-filled operating equipment. Modifications include separation of the existing unwatering and drainage sump with a modular steel wall, installation of new drainage pumps and controls, upgraded sump oil detection, sump access modifications, replacement of the pressure relief valve on the main unit step up transformer, installation of external loop main unit bearing oil coolers, installation of an oil stop valve and sump pump for the intake tower and installation of a foundation trench drain around the existing containment building.
