In January, Northbank Civil and Marine, Inc. was awarded the
emergency repair for the McNary Dam Fish Outfall Pipe for $351,950.00.
We successfully completed of removing the damaged portions
of walkways, replacing grout pads and anchor bolts, removing damaged portions
of sprinkler system, securing remaining walkways, and adding a navigational
sign and light on the end of the outfall. All work had to be completed by the
end of February.
Cle Elum Dam, located 10 miles northwest of Cle Elum, Washington was completed in the 1930s without fish passage facilities. The finished Cle Elum Dam Fish Passage Facility will promote ecological connectivity, biodiversity and natural production of salmonids in the Cle Elum Reservoir.
The Cle Elum Lake Fish Passage Juvenile Facility Tunnel is a $15.2 million project. Northbank is responsible installing a 10’ diameter fish passage tunnel over 1200 feet long through glacial outwash from the outlet portal below the lake to the secant pile shaft upstream of the dam as well as completing the helix chamber foundation system. Work includes mass excavation, shoring, tunnel excavation and lining, shaft excavation and concrete. The helix chamber foundation includes a drainage system, secant pile concrete overlay walls and mass concrete. Site work will begin April of 2018 and be complete by August of 2020.
Northbank Civil and Marine, Inc. was just awarded the $2.64M Hood Canal Bridge Special Repair project by Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT). Hood Canal connects the Olympic and Kitsap Peninsulas. At 7,869 feet (2,398.5 m) long, (floating portion 6,521 feet (1,987.6 m)) it is the longest floating bridge in the world located in a saltwater tidal basin, and the third longest floating bridge overall.
Northbank will perform structural, mechanical and hydraulic rehabilitation of the two 300 foot draw span pontoons. Northbank will adjust and shim 25 pontoon guide rollers, remove 16 gear boxes (rebuild 8 gear boxes and have 8 new gear boxes built) reinstall and align. New hydraulic cylinder lines with a complete oil flush of the system which includes 3 each 1000 gallon reservoir tanks.
On site work will begin May 2017 and be completed by the end of September 2017.
On February 4, 2016, Northbank Civil and Marine was awarded the Minto Fish Facility Follow-on Contract for the US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District.
On February 1, 2016, Northbank Civil and Marine was selected by the US Army Corps of Engineers on a best value basis for The Dalles Navigational Lock Upstream Gate Replacement, Controls Upgrade, and Downstream Gate Gudgeon Replacement. The total value of the project is $11,917,300. The project will occur during the extended navigational lock outage that is scheduled from December 12, 2016 through March 20, 2017.
The upstream gate replacement consists of removal of the old upstream gate, fabrication and installation of a new upstream gate, replacement of the gate anchorage system, and replacement of the gate operating machinery and controls. The downstream gate work includes replacement of the gudgeons, quoin and miter block adjustments, diagonal tensioning, seal replacement, and installation of an impressed current cathodic protection system. The controls upgrade includes upgrades of the navigational lock’s control system and installation of a new power distribution system.
On January 21, 2016, Northbank Civil and Marine was awarded the Lower Monumental Dam Tainter Valve Trunnion Pin Assembly Replacement project for the US Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District.
On May 14, 2015, Northbank Civil and Marine was awarded the Fall Creek Dam and Reservoir Adult Fish Facility Water Supply Upgrade with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District. Northbank was selected on a best value basis and the contract amount is $3,020,000. Work is expected to occur from October 2015 through January of 2016.
